Your Role in Our Mission:
- Perform detailed inspections of products, materials, and components to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards at various stages of the production process.
- Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct in-process inspections and final product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications before shipment.
- Identify, document, and investigate product defects or non-conformance issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with production and engineering teams to develop corrective actions.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurring defects.
- Work with the Quality Manager to develop and implement quality control procedures and ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
- Participate in Kaizen events and other lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce waste and improve production quality.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements specific to refuse truck manufacturing.
- Collect and analyze inspection data to identify trends and areas for improvement in the production process.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Prepare reports and summaries for management, detailing the effectiveness of quality control processes.
- Ensure inspection and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Work with the maintenance team to resolve any issues with testing or calibration equipment.
- Communicate quality standards and issues effectively with production teams and supervisors.
- Provide guidance and training to production staff on quality control processes and inspection techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in a quality technician role, preferably in the automotive or heavy equipment manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with refuse truck manufacturing or related industries is a plus.
- Proficiency with quality inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and statistical process control (SPC) methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and cross-departmental collaboration.
