Job Title: Supply Chain Director

Overview:
The Supply Chain director for our large truck manufacturing company handles the overall supply chain operations.  This role involves managing procurement, logistics, inventory, and supplier relationships to ensure a seamless and efficient flow of materials to support manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:


1.    Planning:
·         Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
·         Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate supply chain plans with broader business strategies.
2.    Procurement and Sourcing:
·         Leads procurement initiatives, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
·         Ensure the selection of reliable and cost-effective suppliers, promoting continuous improvement and innovation.
3.    Logistics Management:
·         Oversee transportation, distribution, and logistics operations to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times in the supply chain.
·         Develop and implement transportation strategies to minimize costs and enhance delivery performance.
4.    Inventory Optimization:
·         Establish and maintain effective inventory management processes to support production schedules while minimizing carrying costs.
·         Implement inventory control systems and strategies to ensure accurate and timely stock levels.
5.    Supplier Relationship Management:
·         Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring a secure supply chain.
·         Evaluate supplier performance and implement strategies for improvement.
 
6.    Risk Management:
·         Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
·         Ensure business continuity through effective risk management and contingency planning.
7.    Cost Management:
·         Analyze cost structures across the supply chain and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and efficiency.
·         Drive continuous improvement in cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
8.    Team Leadership:
·         Provide leadership and direction to the supply chain team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
·         Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and succession planning.
9.    Technology Integration:
·         Evaluate and implement supply chain technologies to enhance visibility, efficiency, and responsiveness.
·         Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to ensure the company remains at the forefront of supply chain management 
          practices.

Qualifications:


1.    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
2.    Proven experience (5-10 years) in supply chain leadership roles, preferably in manufacturing or heavy equipment industries.
3.    Strong strategic thinking and planning skills with a demonstrated ability to align supply chain initiatives with overall business goals.
4.    Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
5.    In-depth knowledge of supply chain processes, logistics, and procurement best practices.
6.    Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and drive change at all organizational levels.
7.    Ability to travel to multiple site locations.
